The Female Orgasm

May 28, 2009

I don’t want to be purposefully controversial, but I find it incredible (though totally believable) how sexism must still be rife in science and research. We’re still asking what – these days – are very basic questions about female physiology. Why? Because men still rule in science.

The dispute raises an intriguing question. In the 21st century, when human biology has been investigated right down to the genetic level, how can the existence of female ejaculation still be open to debate?

Medical textbooks are silent on this aspect of female physiology and most physicians never learn anything of it, unless of course they experience it themselves or witness it in their partners.

From Everything you always wanted to know about female ejaculation (but were afraid to ask)

I hope that the internet/web acts as some kind of tipping point for making technology ‘cool’ for both school girls and boys, and within the next generation the ratio of women to men in science (which could currently be as low as 10%) becomes more evenly balanced.

Who knows what biological, physical and chemical marvels we’re yet to uncover because of our historically biased viewpoint.
